Don't trust one AI with a tax answer.

Ledgervera has three AIs from three different companies review the answer, mark what's wrong or out of date, and look up every code section, regulation and IRS publication on the official site.

For enrolled agents, CPAs and bookkeepers. Free 30-day trial, invite-only while we onboard the first Utah firms.

The check before an answer goes to a client

You already use ChatGPT. Ledgervera reviews what it tells you, without the price of a big-firm research platform.

Tax research cross-check

Paste ChatGPT's answer or your own draft and choose the tax year. Every claim is marked supported, disputed, wrong, outdated or unverifiable, and you get a corrected answer.

Every citation looked up

Code sections and Treasury regulations are checked against the official text, IRS publications and rulings on IRS.gov, and Utah Code on the Legislature's site. Made-up and repealed citations are flagged.

IRS and Utah notice explainer

Photograph a CP2000, CP14, Letter 3219 or a Utah notice. You get what it means, the response deadline worked out by rule rather than guessed, and an outline of the reply.

Client details masked first

Social Security numbers, EINs, account numbers, addresses and the names you list are replaced with placeholders before anything is sent. You can preview exactly what the AIs will see.

A dated audit trail

A PDF for the client file shows who checked it, when, which AIs and model versions, each verdict and citation, and a fingerprint proving the record hasn't changed.

Firm accounts

One firm, several preparers, one bill. A firm admin invites staff, sees the month's usage and can open any check the firm saved.

How a check works

The same multi-AI engine behind Octavera, set up for tax and accounting.

  1. 1You submita question and answer, or a notice, with the tax year and jurisdiction.
  2. 2Details are maskedbefore anything leaves Ledgervera.
  3. 3Three AIs reviewindependently, as an expert, a skeptic and a practitioner.
  4. 4Citations are looked upon the official sites and compared with the answer.
  5. 5You decidewith a corrected answer, what to verify and an audit-trail PDF.

A Quick Check takes about a minute; Full Reach, where every AI writes its own answer and the best is combined and checked again, takes three to six. Ledgervera is a review aid and AI can be wrong, so your judgment still decides.

Tax knowledge built into the core

Three AIs are only half of it. Ledgervera adds its own tax rules and checks around them.

Tax-trained reviewers

Each check is reviewed as an enrolled agent and CPA would review it, with separate expertise for tax, payroll, bookkeeping, financial statements and IRS or Utah notices, focused on federal and Utah rules.

The right tax year

Every AI is told the tax year and jurisdiction you choose and must apply that year's rules, rates and thresholds. A claim that was true in an earlier year, or before a law change, is marked outdated.

Citation rules

Ledgervera recognizes Internal Revenue Code sections, Treasury regulations, IRS publications, revenue procedures, revenue rulings, IRS notices and Utah Code, and knows where each one lives on the official sites.

Notice deadline rules

Deadlines are worked out by rule, not guessed: 90 days for a notice of deficiency (150 if you're abroad), 30 days for a Collection Due Process hearing, 60 days to contest a math-error change or a Trust Fund Recovery Penalty, 30 days on Appeals letters such as Letter 525 and 950, 21 days on a CP14 balance, 30 days for a Utah deficiency, moved past weekends and federal holidays as IRC §7503 allows.

Tax identifiers masked

Social Security numbers and ITINs (including partly hidden ones), EINs, routing and account numbers are recognized and masked. IRS toll-free numbers, form numbers and code sections are left alone.

Ledgervera doesn't contain its own copy of the tax code. It combines what the AIs know with these built-in rules and live lookups on the official sites, and it shows which is which.

Confidentiality

What happens to client information, in plain English.

  • Masked before sending. Social Security numbers, ITINs, EINs, account numbers, addresses, dates of birth and the names you list become placeholders such as [SSN-1].
  • No training on your data. We use the paid business APIs of Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, which don't train their models on what you send.
  • Photos aren't stored. You cover private details on them before sending.
  • Deleted after 90 days. Saved checks are removed automatically, and you can delete any of them sooner.
  • Your own login. Your firm admin can see the firm's checks; PODNalious staff don't open them.

Questions

What tax pros ask us first.

Is this tax advice?

No. Ledgervera is a review aid for professionals. It shows where an answer looks wrong, what the official sources say and what to verify. You stay responsible for the advice you give.

What about IRC §7216 and client consent?

Don't paste client names or identifying numbers. Ledgervera masks the common ones automatically and you can preview what's sent. If you can't remove a client's identity, get the client's written consent first, or don't use that information here.

Which AIs does it use?

Claude from Anthropic, ChatGPT from OpenAI and Gemini from Google. Ledgervera is independent and isn't endorsed by those companies.

Is it only for Utah?

Federal questions work anywhere in the U.S. State coverage starts with Utah, including Utah Code citations and Utah State Tax Commission notices.

How are notice deadlines worked out?

If the notice prints a respond-by date, that date is used. Otherwise Ledgervera counts from the notice date using the rule for that notice, such as 90 days for a Letter 3219, moves weekends and holidays to the next business day, and shows the rule so you can compare it with the notice.
